To assess prospectively hydrocolonoscopy (HC) as a simple and inexpensive technique to reduces procedural and postprocedural pain.
 
The technique of water-assisted colonoscopy was initially reported by Baumann (2) to assist rapid transit through the sigmoid colon and Church (3) to deal with colonic spasm. This technique was prospectively evaluated to determine efficacy in procedural and postprocedural pain prevention.
